The Enterprise Investment Scheme was designed to encourage investment in small and growing companies. When you invest in businesses that qualify, the taxman rewards you with significant savings:

To fully qualify shares must be held for a minimum of three years – tax relief will be given at the outset, but can be clawed back if you dispose of the shares before then.
